Rubén Santana is Mr. World Suprain International 2026, a professional dog stylist with over 25 years of experience, fashion and costume designer, model, event host, pageant coach, and creator of El Mundo de Rubén TV. He organizes the Miss & Mr. Universe Canine Pageant and has appeared on Telemundo as a pet expert. Rubén is dedicated to helping senior citizens and dogs in need through fundraisers, donation drives, and community events. He was also crowned Cultural King of the Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade in 2025 and named Designer of the Year at the 2019 New York Pet Fashion Show.

Miss & Mr. World Suprain 2026
My Journey to the Crown I had the unforgettable experience of proudly representing Puerto Rico at Miss & Mr. World Suprain International 2026. On August 26, in the beautiful city of Cusco, Peru, I was honored to be crowned the new Mr. World Suprain International 2026. These photographs capture some of the most exciting moments of a dream I will always carry in my heart.
Mi Camino hacia la Corona Viví una experiencia inolvidable representando con orgullo a Puerto Rico en el Miss & Mr. World Suprain International 2026. El 26 de agosto, en la hermosa ciudad de Cusco, Perú, tuve el honor de ser coronado como el nuevo Mr. World Suprain International 2026. Estas fotografías capturan algunos de los momentos más emocionantes de un sueño que llevaré siempre en mi corazón.
El San Pedrito
The national costume I presented during the Mr. World Suprain International Pageant was designed and handcrafted by me. It was inspired by the San Pedrito, a small bird native to Puerto Rico known for its vibrant colors and considered a symbol of our island’s natural beauty.
The costume was made from recycled packing foam, a lightweight material that made it easier to transport from New York to Cusco, Peru. It took approximately three months of dedication and detailed work to complete.
El traje típico que presenté durante el certamen Mr. World Suprain International fue diseñado y confeccionado por mí. Está inspirado en el San Pedrito, una pequeña ave endémica de Puerto Rico reconocida por sus vibrantes colores y considerada un símbolo de nuestra riqueza natural.
La pieza fue elaborada artesanalmente con espuma de empaque reciclada, un material liviano que facilitó su transportación desde Nueva York hasta Cusco, Perú. Su creación tomó aproximadamente tres meses de dedicación y trabajo.

Serving as the 2025 Cultural King of the Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade was a journey of rediscovery. After living in New York for decades, I often questioned whether I was “Puerto Rican enough.” This experience allowed me to reconnect with my roots, discover what being Puerto Rican means to me, and embrace the beautiful diversity of our community.
Ser el Rey Cultural 2025 de la Parada Puertorriqueña del Bronx fue un viaje de redescubrimiento. Después de vivir durante décadas en Nueva York, muchas veces me pregunté si era “lo suficientemente puertorriqueño”. Esta experiencia me permitió reconectarme con mis raíces, descubrir lo que significa para mí ser puertorriqueño y celebrar la hermosa diversidad de nuestra comunidad.

A Dream Achieved Together
Being named 2019 Designer of the Year at the iconic New York Pet Fashion Show was one of the greatest moments of my career. The journey was filled with challenges, sacrifice, and countless hours of hard work, but I did not walk it alone. I shared this achievement with my beloved Pomeranian, King Tut. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit and canine legacy left an unforgettable mark on the world of canine fashion—and forever in my heart.
Un sueño que alcanzamos juntos
Ser reconocido como Diseñador del Año 2019 en el icónico New York Pet Fashion Show fue uno de los momentos más importantes de mi carrera. El camino estuvo lleno de retos, sacrificios e incontables horas de trabajo, pero no lo recorrí solo. Compartí este logro con mi querido pomerania, King Tut. Aunque hoy ya no está con nosotros, su espíritu y su legado canino dejaron una huella inolvidable en el mundo de la moda canina y, para siempre, en mi corazón.
Social and Community Work
My community service focuses primarily on the well-being of older adults and animals, while remaining open to supporting other important causes. One of my greatest joys is joining forces with organizations to create events that bring companionship, happiness, and smiles to our community.
In 2026, I joined the Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade in collecting toys for children in celebration of Three Kings Day. I also had the honor of collaborating with R.A.I.N./Mechler Hall Senior Center as the host and pageant director for the Señora and Señor Puerto Rico competition, as well as hosting its 2026 Carnival.
For more than 20 years, I have also advocated for animal welfare. I have organized educational and fundraising events—including Pawlloween and Miss & Mr. Universe Canine—supported organizations such as Yorkie911 Rescue, and helped abandoned dogs find loving homes.

Trabajo social y comunitario
Mi labor social se enfoca principalmente en el bienestar de los adultos mayores y de los animales, sin limitarme a colaborar con otras causas importantes. Una de mis mayores alegrías es unir fuerzas con diferentes organizaciones para crear eventos que lleven compañía, diversión y sonrisas a nuestra comunidad.
En 2026, junto con la Parada Puertorriqueña del Bronx, recolectamos juguetes para los niños como parte de la celebración del Día de los Tres Reyes Magos. También tuve el honor de colaborar con R.A.I.N./Mechler Hall Senior Center como anfitrión y director del certamen Señora y Señor Puerto Rico, además de presentar su Carnaval 2026.
Durante más de 20 años también he trabajado por el bienestar animal. He organizado eventos educativos y de recaudación de fondos, incluyendo Pawlloween y Miss & Mr. Universe Canine, apoyando a organizaciones como Yorkie911 Rescue y ayudando a perros abandonados a encontrar hogares llenos de amor.

The Miss & Mr. Universe Canine Pageant was inspired by my love for animals and beauty pageants. This virtual competition welcomes dogs of all breeds and gives them the opportunity to represent any available country while competing with a purpose.
This year, 100% of registration fees will be donated directly to a nonprofit animal shelter or organization selected by the winners. No money will be awarded directly to the winners. All selected organizations are subject to approval by the Miss & Mr. Universe Canine Pageant.

The winners will be selected by a panel of judges.
How It Works
The first step is to register and reserve the country your dog will represent.
Once registered, you may begin preparing the following materials:

One 50-second video for each category—three videos in total
-
Three photos for each category—nine photos in total
All videos and photos must be horizontal, clear, and well-lit
No people or other dogs may appear
Props and creative locations are welcome
Animal mistreatment of any kind is strictly prohibited
To make your presentation more exciting, we recommend combining short clips featuring different angles, poses, and close-ups.
Important Deadline
All photos and videos must be submitted by August 15, 2027. Please remember that the submission deadline and crowning ceremony are different dates.
After all materials are received, we will produce the final virtual show and present the contestants to the judges. The winners will be announced during our crowning event in November 2027. The official date and time will be announced closer to the event.
Additional information and complete participation guidelines will be provided once your pet is registered.

Miss & Mr. Universe Canine Pageant nació de mi amor por los animales y los certámenes de belleza. Esta competencia virtual recibe perros de todas las razas y les brinda la oportunidad de representar a cualquier país disponible mientras compiten por una causa.
Este año, el 100 % del dinero recaudado mediante las inscripciones será donado directamente a un refugio de animales u organización sin fines de lucro seleccionado por los ganadores. ¿Cómo funciona?
El primer paso es inscribir a su mascota y reservar el país que representará. Una vez completada la inscripción, podrá comenzar a preparar los siguientes materiales:

Un video de 50 segundos por cada categoría, para un total de tres videos

Tres fotografías por cada categoría, para un total de nueve fotografías
Todos los videos y fotografías deben ser horizontales, claros y contar con buena iluminación
No pueden aparecer personas ni otros perros
Se permiten accesorios y escenarios creativos
No se aceptará ningún tipo de maltrato animal
Para crear una presentación más emocionante, recomendamos combinar clips cortos que muestren diferentes ángulos, poses y acercamientos de su mascota.
Fecha límite importante
Todas las fotografías y los videos deberán enviarse a más tardar el 15 de agosto de 2027. Es importante recordar que la fecha límite para entregar los materiales y la noche de coronación son fechas diferentes.
Después de recibir todos los materiales, comenzaremos a producir el espectáculo virtual final y presentaremos a los concursantes ante el jurado. Los ganadores serán anunciados durante nuestra ceremonia de coronación en noviembre de 2027. La fecha y la hora oficiales se anunciarán cuando se acerque el evento.
Una vez inscrita su mascota, recibirá información adicional y todas las reglas de participación.
